Creating Virtual Printer
You can use a virtual printer driver by creating a copy of the printer driver on the Select Printer list. You can set printing for the virtual printer driver separately from the original printer driver for ease of use.
If you set virtual printers with different sources of paper, you can select any paper source you need and print from one printer. You do not need to change the paper settings every time you print.
- Utilizing the Virtual Printer
For example, assume that Tray 1 has new A4 paper and Tray 2 has A4 scratch paper.
- From the Select Printer list, select AA, the original printer driver to which Tray 1 is assigned to. Then right click it and select Create Virtual Printer from the context menu.
- In the Register Virtual Printer dialog box, designate a Printer Name and click Register to create virtual printer aa.
- Select virtual printer aa and select Set to designate Tray 2 as the paper source.
- When printing on new A4 paper, select printer driver AA. When printing on A4 scratch paper, select printer driver aa.
Caution
Printer List Resets after Adding or Deleting Printer
The printer list for Cell will be reset when a printer is added to or deleted from the system. Information about existing virtual printer drivers will disappear as well.
