  2. Click Home > Change Text > Change Half-width/Full-width.
  3. In the Change Width dialog box, select Replace Method > All to Fullwidth.
  4. From Change What, select Number or English.
  5. Click Replace.
  6. All halfwidth numbers or English letters in the selected block will change to fullwidth characters.

Replace Method

All the characters within the selected block that correspond to Change What will change either to All to Halfwidth or to All to Fullwidth.

Change What

Change Half-width/Full-width cannot alter the width of all characters.

To apply Change Half-width/Full-width on a character, the character must have both fullwidth and halfwidth corresponding forms.

Therefore, the only characters that you can select using Change What are numbers, English letters, symbols, (Japanese) katakana, and Korean alphabets.

Note

Fullwidth and Halfwidth Characters

A fullwidth character generally refers to a character whose width is identical to its height. Korean, Chinese, and Japanese characters are fullwidth by default.

A halfwidth character refers to a narrow character whose width is half its height. English alphabets, numbers, and punctuation marks such as space, comma, and period are halfwidth characters by default.

Ignoring Unchangeable Characters

When you are applying Change Half-width/Full-width, you cannot alter the width of any character in the selected block whose width cannot be changed (Korean letters, Chinese letters, etc.); only the letters designated as Change What can be changed.
